Welcome to the stage!
Our open mic nights are designed to be a safe, welcoming space where stories are shared and connections are made. To ensure everyone feels at home, we ask all performers to honor the following community standards:
1. The Basics
- Time Slots: 10 minutes maximum (approx. 2-3 songs), with a 5-minute transition time between sets.
- The Stage:
- Inspire: Up to three performers and three total sound system inputs, supporting any combination of instruments and vocals using our two available microphones and instrument plug-in. Aux In and Bluetooth available.
- Mosaic: 16 available inputs, though all technical equipment and backline for this space are managed and provided exclusively by Mosaic rather than Inspire Coffeehouse. More info will be provided at time of open mic scheduling on Mosaic stage.
- Sign-Ups: Start 30 minutes before start time at the counter. First come, first served!
2. Our Content Standards
Because we are an alcohol-free, family-friendly environment focused on community care, all performances must be:
- Family-Friendly: No profanity or suggestive lyrical content.
- Substance-Free: No references to drugs, alcohol, or illegal activity.
- Neutral & Respectful:
- Faith: We welcome both secular and religious expressions. However, the stage cannot be used to endorse a specific church, denomination, or religious group.
- Politics: We are a "neutral ground" for our city. No endorsing or defaming specific political parties, candidates, or divisive political agendas.
- Respect: No speech that promotes hate, discrimination, or demeans any member of our community.
3. Performance Etiquette
- Listen Well: We practice "Excellence with Heart." Please be a respectful audience member for others while you wait for your turn.
- Plug & Play: To keep the night moving, please have your instruments tuned and ready before you step on stage.
- The Goal: We aren’t looking for perfection; we’re looking for you. Be authentic, be real, and know that you belong here.
Note to Performers: Inspire Coffeehouse reserves the right to transition a performer off-stage if content violates these community standards. We’re here to lift each other up. Thank you for helping us keep this space safe for everyone!
